2016 PSC Combine Player Signs With Swedish Division Two Outfit Karlslunds IF HFK

2016 PSC Combine attendee Steffen Kraus has signed with Swedish Division Two club Karlslunds IF HFK.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper attended PSC’s Winter 2016 Washington, D.C. Combine, and impressed a number of coaches over the three days in the capital. Subsequently, he was recommended to Karlslunds, and after a trial period was offered the chance to become a part of the squad for the club’s forthcoming season.

And Kraus, a former George Mason University player, revealed his excitement in making the move over to Sweden to begin the next stage of his footballing career.

“I’m extremely happy that everything has worked out,” said the former VfB Stuttgart youth player.

“Sweden is very different compared to the States but my first impression is that it’s great and I’m really excited for the new challenge,” continued Kraus.

Furthermore, PSC Director Tom Taylor, who watched Kraus from the sidelines in D.C., revealed his delight in seeing another George Mason University player taste success with PSC.

“I’m very pleased to see Steffen sign,” said Taylor.

“Once Steffen showed his eagerness to play in Sweden we were very happy to recommend him to Karlslunds as we thought it would be a good first step for him and a great opportunity.

“He had a good tryout in D.C. and is another great product from the George Mason University program. We have had a number of their players attend our combines and tours in recent years and Steffen has been another successful product. It’s a testament to the high level of work that Head Coach Greg Andrulis and his staff are doing at the university,” continued Taylor.

And German-born Kraus was quick to highlight the opportunities that PSC’s Combines can provide players with.

“Your past accomplishments don’t really matter during the tryouts; I feel that if you play well over the three days, you’ll get a chance,” he said.

“There are so many coaches at the events, and even if they don’t offer you an opportunity, the guys from PSC will work hard to help you and maybe organise a tryout, which is what happened in my case,” continued Kraus.

We wish Steffen the very best of luck over in Sweden during his first season with Karlslunds.
