Jennifer Reyes and Ariela Lewis: Signed with Skovde KK (Sweden, Division 1)

Success at the Double as Reyes and Lewis sign in Sweden from PSC Women’s Pro Combine

PSC is proud to announce two Women’s signings from our Orlando Women’s Tryout earlier this year as Ariela Lewis and Jennifer Reyes have put pen to paper to begin their professional careers in Sweden with Skovde KK.

During the three day combine the women played in front of coaches from Iceland and Sweden, as well as PSC’s Agency Staff. Through the recommendation of PSC’s Women’s Director, Simon

Deeley, both women were able to secure a professional contract in Sweden. Deeley commented:

“Both girls stood out, and were each unlucky to not get signed by the attending clubs at the tryout. I saw they definitely had the ability to move on and had to get them in somewhere. I

was connected with Skovde via one of the attending coaches and recommended Jennifer and Ariela to them who acted quickly to get them tied down.”

For both girls, this represents their first move into the professional game, and also their first time in Europe. Lewis, who played for Alabama State University, expressed her excitement over the deal, and how smooth the tryout process was:

“I have not traveled to Sweden, or even Europe, but it’s always been on my list of things to do. The fact I can now travel to Europe, experience Swedish culture AND play soccer while I’m there is pretty awesome and I’m incredibly excited for it!”

“I found the combine to be very organized and very professional. We did introductions, and then off we were to playing. No complications, no hassle, no confusions. The aspect of the Pro coaches coaching our games was a great incentive to fight all three days. The staff were very attentive and kind. Simon was fantastic in organizing the days, getting us started and seemed to be personal with each player in the sense of answering questions, discussing player points and addressing the group”

Reyes, who represented Bowling Green state University echoed Lewis’s excitement for the opportunity and the no fuss approach of the tryout:

“I have never had the opportunity to travel to Sweden or Europe, it’s always been on my bucket list!”

“The tryout had a great atmosphere and was very organized, I loved how we went straight into showcasing our skills”

For both women, this is the first step in their professional career, and according to PSC Director Deeley, it shouldn’t be the last.

“Ariela and Jennifer can definitely play at a higher level and this is their chance to go and prove it. We have had a number of players, both men and women, start their career in Europe and move up the ranks into the top leagues either here or abroad. If Jennifer and Ariela show the same commitment, attitude, and ability they showed at our Orlando tryout then this will be the first of many contracts.”
