Attending Coaches and Scouts:
Jönköpings Södra IF – Allsvenskan
Swedish Allsvenskan side Jönköpings Södra IF will be attending PSC’s New York/New Jersey Pro Soccer Combine this summer, in search of talented players to add to their squad during the July and August mid-season transfer window.
After an almost 50-year absence from Sweden’s top division, Jönköpings returned to Allsvenskan in 2016 after securing promotion with a 2015 Superettan league title win. And after steadily progressing from a fourth to a first tier side over a 17-year period – the club are in the process of constructing a new stadium in line with their Allsvenskan status.
Currently, Jönköpings play their home games at the 5,200-capacity stadium Stadsparksvallen.
Hibernians F.C.: Maltese Premier League
Since PSC began working with current Maltese Premier League champions Hibernians F.C. in 2015, two Combine attendees have signed with the club. Head Coach Mark Miller will be heading to New Jersey this summer in search of more PSC players to add to his squad. Before joining up with PSC, Mark had previously coached four Maltese Premier League teams, as well as the nation’s u21 team. To date, he has been responsible for the Maltese Premier League signings of Gus Villalobos to Qormi, Austin Martz and Gibson Bardsley to Pembroke, and Kyle O’Brien and James Togbah to Valletta FC.
Bodens BK: Sweden, Division Two
Bodens will be returning to PSC’s Combines ahead of their 2017 season, after signing six Combine players over the last two years, and trialing many more. This season’s roster boasted two key PSC players, captain of the side Eddy Prugh (Las Vegas Combine, 2013) and starting goalkeeper Matt Silva. The last two seasons have proved frustrating for the club, after narrowly missing out on promotion at the climax of both campaigns. Bodens will be attending our events in search of players to strengthen their push for promotion this year.
TULSA ROUGHNECKS: USA, USL PRO
Tulsa Roughnecks are led by USL Hall of Famer David Irving, who knows PSC Combines well having signed over 20 players from PSC events during the last three years. The Roughnecks roster currently boasts nine players signed from PSC events – including Brady Ballew, Iarfhlaith Davoren, Gus Villalobos, and Devin Morgan.
FK Jurnieks Riga – Division 2, Latvia
FK Jurnieks is a newly formed club playing in the capital city of Latvia, Riga. The club will be in search for a number of new players to bring into the club this summer. It is based in a prime location with access and exposure to many clubs at the higher levels in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. FK Jurnieks play in a season that runs from May to October and will be aiming at gaining promotion to Latvia’s, Division 1 for the 2018 season. They will be attending all PSC Summer Combines to find talent for the club. The club does not have a limit on foreign players and is a good pathway for American players into European soccer.
Harrisburg City Islanders (USL)
The Harrisburg City Islanders are an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2003, the team plays in the United Soccer League, the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. They have been operating in the USL for number of years now and have had many successful campaigns including a Championship Final against Orlando City at the Citrus Bowl in 2011 and in 2014 losing out again in the final against Sacramento Republic.
Starting in 2016, the City Islanders began playing at the 6000 seater stadium, FNB Field. The team’s colors are tropical blue, navy blue, and white. Their current head coach is Bill Becher who has been with the club since its formation and are under new ownership from the 2017 season. The City Islanders also field a team in the USL’s Super-20 League, a league for players 17 to 20 years of age, operated by the United Soccer Leagues.
