PSC are proud to announce the signing of goalkeeper Paul Lewis with USL League One side Central Valley Fuego.

Paul is no stranger to success through PSC having already signed three years of pro contracts with the Charleston Battery in USL Championship after impressing at PSC’s pro tryouts straight out of college.

After a year with Michigan Stars in NISA, Paul has found himself back in the USL after impressing on a week long trial earlier this month.

PSC enjoy a strong relationship with CV Fuego with Sporting Director Adam Smith a regular at PSC tryouts, and PSC Director Tom Taylor working alongside CV Fuego’s Academy players to aid development and exposure. A relationship which has already seen PSC tryout attendee Christian Vega on trial with Fuego 1st team this week where he will join up with recently signed goalkeeper Lewis.

PSC Director Simon Deeley commented “It is great to see Paul back in the USL. As is often the case in professional soccer the opportunity came up at very short notice and Paul was ready to grab it with both hands. We’re excited to see how he does the rest of the season and have high hopes for him.”

We caught up with Paul himself before he joined up with the first team squad:

“Central Valley Fuego is a club rich with character and represents a community that is deeply rooted in soccer. I am extremely excited to be working with a great group of players and a fantastic coaching staff for the remainder of the USL League One season. Thank you to Tom Taylor, Mark Taylor, and Simon Deeley at PSC, the Ruelas Family, and the CV Fuego staff for this opportunity, and a special thank you to my family for their support.”

All here at PSC wish Paul the very best for the rest of the season.

Want to follow in Paul’s footsteps and sign pro in the USL? CV Fuego will be in attendance at all of our upcoming winter pro tryouts in search of more players for the 2024 USL season.
