At PSC Soccer, we take pride in discovering and nurturing young soccer talent, and CV Fuego trialist Christian Vega’s journey is testament to this. The 19-year-old impressed PSC Agency staff at our 2022 California Pro Soccer tryout and was rewarded with a trial with Syracuse Pulse in NISA. Vega also represented PSC FC at our 2022 PSC Championship Tournament where he showcased in front of Anthony Hudson, who was then USMNT Head Coach, and Central Valley Fuego Academy Director Adam Smith.

Recognizing his potential, Smith signed Vega to the academy team at the beginning of 2023 and the central defender wasted no time in establishing himself as a standout player and captain for the club who currently sit top of the table. Whilst working with Fuego’s academy Vega has worked under the watchful eye of PSC Director and current Fuego Academy assistant Tom Taylor, who organized and arranged his original trial with Syracuse Pulse.

Fuego have a reputation for developing youth players into first team players, as shown by Maximus Ekk who has scored 2 professional goals for the first team already and PSC hope that Vega’s trial will be successful and will be the next academy player to break into the first team.

One year on from attending and impressing at PSC’s pro combine California and impressing staff Vega has had the opportunity to work with the USMNT Head Coach, trial with Syracuse Pulse, sign with Fuego Academy and now finds himself on trial with the first team as he looks to continue his upward projection.

We wish him the greatest of success as he proves the path from PSC’s tryouts to the professional game is a well-trodden one for any player who stands out when showcasing to professional coaches. Vega is not the only PSC player to enjoy success at Fuego after impressing at a PSC combine as 23-year-old Goalkeeper Paul Lewis is on trial with the club and expected to sign shortly and 16-year-old Josh Campbell, who also impressed at PSC’s California tryout has signed with the academy.

At PSC, we are committed to providing opportunities for young athletes to realize their potential and achieve their dreams. Christian Vega’s journey from our California tryout to the USL is a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work, talent, and the right opportunity. We wish him the best of luck during his trial, and we can’t wait to see more young talents like Christian rise to prominence through PSC Soccer tryouts.
