Having seen Paul Cooper sign with Barnsley FC in England’s League One last summer Leo Londe is looking to go one better this year as he trains with Birmingham City of the Championship in England. Leo is not the only American making waves at Birmingham City as Seven-time Super Bowl champion and entrepreneur Tom Brady has recently taken an owenrship stake in the club and is sitting as chairman on the advisory board.
Birmingham City have a long rich history of football in England, participating in the EPL on multiple seasons and famously beating Arsenal in the League Cup Final in 2011 and narrowly losing to Liverpool on penalties in 2001.
After spending a month in England training with PSC Residential Coaches Lee & Gareth Holmes Leo was able to standout in front of Birmingham City scouts who invited him in to train for a week.
Residential Program Director Lee Holmes commented “Leo is not short of suitors following impressive displays across the month here in UK and if things don’t work out at Birmingham City he will end up somewhere we are sure – and very well deserved for him. It’s also a great statement of intent for the UK Residential both this year and moving forward – last year we saw Paul sign with Barnsley in League One and to getting players in to big clubs such as Birmingham City is only good for the future of the program”
Leo was first seen at PSC’s Texas pro tryout where he worked directly with Lee Holmes over the course of three days whilst showcasing to other professional coaches.
