PSC are delighted to announce the signing of Sofia Lewis in Iceland with FHL for the 2023 season after impressing Head Coach Bjorgvin Gunnarsson live at PSC’s Orlando tryouts. This will be Sofia’s first pro contract having recently graduated from Minot State University.
The American forward will be joined by Canadian striker Natalie Cooke who was signed earlier this month as the club look to push on from their successful 2022 season and gain promotion to the premier league.
Lewis attended PSC’s Women’s Pro Tryout in Florida in January 2023 and within 2 weeks of the event had signed her first professional contract.
“It’s great to see” commented Director Simon Deeley, “Sofia’s story is exactly why we hold these tryouts, to give players exposure and the opportunity to showcase in front of Head Coaches who make the decisions. Sofia stood out at the tryout and was rewarded with multiple contract offers as a result – the PSC tryout system and process continue to see players placed in Europe and long may that continue”.
