PSC is proud to announce the signing of Bayleigh Chaviers in Iceland with Fjardab/Hottur/Leiknir ahead of the 2021 season. The former University of Miami standout has joined up with her teammates in Iceland as the club pushes for promotion this season.
Chaviers is the second player to be signed at the club after Heidi Giles enjoyed a successful 2020 season in Iceland before moving on to the Hungarian Premier League.
It hasn’t been an easy year for any level I soccer and Chaviers is no exception as she commented “Initially after my graduation in May 2020 from the University of Miami, I wanted to jump right into playing professionally somewhere. The pandemic hit, and I had to adjust everything that I had planned. It has always been a dream to play professionally and I am so grateful that I have finally received the opportunity to play, especially in Iceland!”
The Texas-born midfielder/forward has been actively training on her own and enlisted a strength & conditioning coach in her hometown to help keep her at game fitness.
PSC Director of Women’s Placement, Simon Deeley, commented “It is great to see players still getting opportunities to pursue their professional dreams following the last 12 months and Bayleigh is no exception. She will be playing under a good friend of PSC’s and we are excited to hear progress reports on her throughout the season and hopefully, she can be a driving force to their long overdue promotion”
When asked about her experience with PSC Management, Chaviers commented how quickly and effective the communication had been and took time to offer a huge thank you to “my parents and family for supporting me and encouraging me to always follow my dreams! I would like to thank my boyfriend, Brandon for being my biggest supporter! Lastly, I would like to thank Simon/PSC Management, and my coach here in Iceland for giving me this amazing opportunity!”
All here at PSC are looking forward to seeing Bayleigh’s debut season and wish her the best!
