Valley United Duo Head to Sweden after standout season in UPSL

Pro Soccer Consulting (PSC) LTD is proud to announce local Valley United Soccer Club (VUSC) players Kyle Garcia and Juan Camacho will be playing their soccer in Europe this summer as they have joined up with The Scandinavian Football Academy (SFA) in Orebro, Sweden.

For Juan Camacho, this is his first experience of European Soccer whereas Kyle Garcia has spent time in Sweden, Ireland, and Turkey respectively. Camacho and Garcia were recommended to The SFA by Valley United Head Coach Simon Deeley after both players enjoyed standout seasons with Valley United in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) in California.

“It’s a bittersweet moment,” Said Deeley “We’re obviously sad to lose two of our stronger players ahead of our important UPSL playoff games but delighted we have been able to offer this opportunity and progression for them. We know they are going onto a better footballing environment, which aligns with our aim at the club to increase exposure for local players and assist them in realizing their dreams of playing professionally.”

“They are tested against solid competition here in the UPSL, which helps me evaluate if they are quality enough to be recommended to teams in Europe. From what I have seen over the last 3 months working with Valley United, I am confident these two will be the first of many players heading overseas to achieve their dreams.”

Valley United President Laura Garcia echoes Deeley’s sentiments “We’re extremely proud and excited that these two players have been rewarded with this opportunity, we have a core of players on the first team that I feel can progress to a higher level than UPSL and would do well in Europe and look forward to seeing the opportunities that our new found partnership with PSC can offer our local players”

When asked about the opportunity, Kyle Garcia and Juan Camacho were relishing the opportunity of playing in Europe this summer: Garcia, who has played in Sweden before, commented “Playing in a country where football is the main sport offers more competitive and organized teams and I look forward to gaining experience from playing new players with different mindsets and skills. I want to go as far as I can with football and the coaching staff here at SFA along with the environment will help me achieve that.

“Opportunities like traveling abroad and playing the sport you love don’t come around very often” Said Camacho who is playing outside of America for the first time “I’m looking forward to competing, and learning the most I can from my time here.”

Although they said goodbye to their teammates in LA before crossing the Atlantic, it shouldn’t be too long until they are re-united, albeit temporarily, as Valley United will spend a month in Sweden this summer and facing off against local professional sides. From this trip, the club hopes to assist more players in staying in Europe and realizing their dreams of playing professionally.

When asked about the trip, Laura Garcia commented “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the team to spend a month in a professional training environment, against professional teams and finding out just how good they really are. We’re expecting big things from the trip, whether it be a learning and development experience the guys never forget, or that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign a professional contract”

During their time in Sweden, they will likely face off against former team-mates Camacho and Garcia’s new outfit SFA which will bring mixed emotions for the players. “It will be a strange feeling because everyone on that team is a tight-knit group…..no doubt it will be a battle,” said Camacho before Garcia added “I’m excited to face off against my old club. I want to show the new and up-and-coming Valley players that they can make it to this level if they put in the time and effort.

PSC wishes both players the very best in Sweden.
