PSC Women’s Combine Duo Head to Sweden for Trial

PSC is delighted to announce their first Women’s combine success story of summer 2015, as two players will travel to Sweden this week to trial with QBIK of the Swedish 1st Division.

Hannah Kimsey, who attended PSC’s first Women’s combine in December 2014, and Lauren Badalamente, who was in attendance this past week at San Diego’s 2015 summer combine will both travel to Sweden this week to trial with the club.

Although both players will travel to Sweden together, they took very different routes following their respective combines, as Hannah Kimsey’s trial took 8 months to be confirmed, whereas Lauren Badalamente’s took just 8 days.

Starting with central midfielder, Hannah Kimsey, who stood out at PSC’s December 2014 combine and impressed agency staff with performances over the three days. Following the combine, Malbacken IF had asked Kimsey to trial, but the Concordia midfielder opted to stay in the North West to break into the Portland Thorn setup.

Seven months later, PSC Women’s Director, Simon Deeley, was contacted by QBIK for a central midfielder. After sending videos of Kimsey’s performances at the combine, and her university highlights reel, the club asked if Hannah was available for trial. This time Kimsey had no hesitation in accepting the offer and will fly out on July 17th to link up with the first team squad a full 8 months after first being seen by PSC Agency Staff.

Lauren Badalamente’s success came much faster. Whilst negotiations were ongoing over Hannah’s arrival in Sweden, QBIK was made aware of PSC’s June 2015 combine and asked Agency Staff for an attack-minded full back. Badalamente had signed up for the combine as a right and left midfielder, but due to a late arrival on day 3, filled in at right-back for 20 20-minute period.

Despite having played well on days 1 + 2, Badalamente stood out as a natural full-back in these 20 minutes, and PSC Agency Staff sent the combine footage to QBIK who immediately requested the AFC Torino player trial for a week within 8 days of the combine finishing.

Both girls will link up with QBIK’s first team squad this week, with a view to signing professionally for the remainder of the season. As always, PSC Staff wish the girls the very best of luck in Europe!
