After two successful seasons with B71 Sandoy in Faroe Islands James Drye has continued his upward progressions signing with NSí Runarvik, historically one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Drye’s story began on PSC’s Sweden & Finland Showcase Tour in November 2021 where he was coached by B71 Head Coach Richard Goffe. After working day in and day out with each other both player and coach agreed on a contract for James to join up with B71 for the 2022 season.

Coach Goffe commented “I first met James on tour in Sweden and Finland with PSC. It was great to spend time with him on tour and get to know him as a person so I knew he was right for our environment and team. Getting to see him play in games and coach him and build a relationship was very helpful so we could plan for how he could best come into the team….James was a key member of the squad right away.”

Despite having opportunities in other countries Drye returned to Faroe Islands with B71 for the 2023 season, this time to captain the side as his stock in Faroe Islands grew. He ended the season with 9 assists and 2 goals from center back and it was inevitable that a bigger club would come calling as was the case in the 2023-24 off season where NSí Runarvik came into sign the former UNLV Center Back.

PSC Director Tom Taylor commented: “James has been the blueprint for all players wishing to attend a PSC tour. Performed well whilst showcasing on tour and getting to work with his Head Coach and earned an opportunity. He then took advantage of that opportunity with both hands and was happy to play in the second tier in order to work his way up. He is now playing premier league football in Europe and has the chance to develop and grow even further. Just 2 years after his first showcase tour with PSC he has now signed 3 professional contracts!”

All here at PSC wish James the best for the upcoming season and continues success as his career grows.
