PSC are proud to announce another success story from our Winter Tryouts as Florida Pro Tryout attendee Julia Carr has signed with TB/FCS/Royn in Faroe Islands.

The central midfielder performed well over three sessions but did not receive any offers from the attending clubs in attendance from Iceland and the German Bundesliga. PSC Women’s Director Simon Deeley recognized she had the ability to play professionally in Europe and when the Faroese club reached out in search of a player coach for the 2024 season he was quick to recommend her. Such is the strength of reputation PSC have in Europe the club agreed to sign her without trial and she joins up with the squad this week.

Deeley commented: “Julia had a really good tryout and unfortunately but understandably did not fit the profile that the attending clubs were looking for. We felt she could play at the professional level and were comfortable recommending her to our contacts. This is the value of trying out in front of a FIFA Licensed Agency with a wide network as she is the now the fourth player from this winters tryouts we have placed at a club that did not physically attend the tryout!”

He continued: “I’m really happy for Julia, her performances were worthy of an opportunity to sign pro and she has shown the right attitude throughout the whole process. Some players turn their noses up at professional opportunities if they are not top tier but more and more in todays games top tier clubs will not take a chance on a player without some professional experience in Europe. Sometimes you have to go and prove yourself in Europe in order to progress to higher levels.”

We caught up with Julia before she flew out to join up with her new squad….
