PSC are proud to announce Katelyn Kellogg has signed her second pro contract in Iceland in 2 years. After being placed with Fjolnir in Division 2 last season by PSC Women's Director Simon Deeley, Kellogg has seen her performances rewarded by moving up a Division.

The Coastal Carolina Goalkeeper has signed with UMF Grindavik of Iceland's Division One after recommendation again from PSC Women's Director Simon Deeley.

"This is well deserved" commented Deeley "Katelyn proved herself to be one of the strongest keepers in the Division last year if not the strongest and was worthy of an upward progression. I'm really pleased to see her move up with Grindavik and hopefully this is just the next step for her as she continues to climb the ladder."

We caught up with Katelyn before she traveled to Iceland to get her take on a new season in Iceland.

How was your experience in your first professional season in 2023 playing with Fjolnir?
My experience was great. Mostly because of how welcoming my team was to me. Even the families of teammates were always making sure I was taken care of. Having that support 24/7 was huge and helped build chemistry on the field just as much.

What about Iceland did you like? (Both on and off the field)
I had the opportunity to learn more about european style of play, first hand. It taught how I can benefit my team as a sweeper keeper, and other times when to slow the ball down in the back. I learned a lot about Iceland culture through my teammates as well. I tried new foods, saw new things, and met a lot of really great people. Of course, seeing the northern lights for the first time was a plus.

How has your experience been with PSC in terms of their facilitation of your contracts?
My experience has been positive. It has been organized and facilitated well. The process has been efficient and helped guide me to the best decision.

What are your hopes for Grindavik this season?
I believe we will have a lot to prove. Given that Grindavik is going through a difficult period due to the eruptions, it will motivate us to play even harder to represent Grindavik and how they have persevered through these times. There will be much to play for and many games to win.

Is there anyone you want to thank / acknowledge / give a shout out to?
I am thankful for family and friends who have supported me through this process: Mom, Dad, Hannah, Caleb, and Tristan. Kobe, who has also pushed me to continue to work hard and believe in myself. Simon, who has been a wonderful agent through this process. Lastly, but most importantly, God for this opportunity.
