PSC Sweden & Finland Showcase Tour striker Jacques Fokam Sandeu has left the tour early to sign in Iceland after standout performances in Sweden.
The powerful striker’s journey began at PSC’s Atlanta pro tryout where he showed glimpses of his talent and potential but by his own admission was not at 100%. He was invited onto PSC’s showcase tour of Sweden, hosted by Bodens BK and Finland, hosted by FF Jaro. After scoring 7 goals in two halves of football in Sweden PSC Agency staff were easily convinced of his quality and began recommending him to clubs across Europe to secure a deal for him by the end of the tour.
Things progressed quickly for the Coker college graduate and within 48 hours of scoring his second hat-trick in 2 games he was leaving the tour after signing a contract with KFA in Iceland.
PSC Director of Placement and Recruitment Simon Deeley, who recommended Jacques to KFA commented “Jacques showed at our Atlanta combine that he had all the physical tools but did not look 100% sharp. We had an honest conversation on the side with him where he convinced us he had more to show and we invited him to our showcase tour to prove it. It took 2 halves of football for him to score 7 goals, one assist and hit the post – after that we had no hesitation in recommending him to all our contacts across Europe and KFA came forward with an offer which will see him sign through until the end of this season.”
When asked about his experience on tour Jacques commented “My coach from Coker College, Mike Antoniewicz recommended PSC’s tryouts to me and I trust him so I believed it was a legitimate opportunity. Once I came on tour it was very good, we were provided with quality food, quality places to stay and played against good teams. I was really helpful to have coaches be involved as much as they were. I have been with teams and trials where coaches didn’t want to teach us how to play or give us their experience but here every member of staff was involved to help us showcase to our best”
Jacques new club KFA have signed over 10 PSC players on the men’s and women’s side, most notably Abdul Mansaray who went on to hit double figures for the season and make team of the year for the league. PSC hope to see the same success for Jacques in the remainder of the 2024 season. The men’s side of the club look for promotion as they sit one point behind the automatic promotion places whilst Women’s PSC signing Deja Sandoval and teammates sit 12 points clear at the top of the league with 5 games left to play.
PSC have 7 more tryouts this winter just like the Atlanta pro tryout where Jacques story began. Please see our upcoming events here if you are interested in showcasing.
