Pro Soccer Consulting (PSC) want to wish combine attendees James Bolger & Zishim Bawa the very best as they head into the Irish FA Cup Final this weekend.
2024 Colorado tryout attendee James Bolger started his journey to the Irish Cup Final in Roscommon, a 2 hour drive from Drogheda, but needed to travel to Colorado, Malta, England & Sweden to make his professional dreams come true.
Bolger’s journey began when he attended PSC’s Colorado tryout in January of 2024 after graduating from NorthWestern College. The central defender had never played professionally before, and never worked with or met PSC staff before day one of the tryout. Three days later and PSC Agency Staff believed they had found a player capable of breaking into the professional game and began recommending Bolger to multiple clubs across USA & Europe with no immediate success.
Bolger joined up with PSC’s elite showcase tour to Malta & England in March of 2024 where he proved himself against professional opposition and signed with Bodens BK after recommendation from PSC Director Tom Taylor, who first saw Bolger in Colorado.
So after impressing in England & Malta the Irishman went off to Sweden on his first professional contract.
It took just 2 months for him to make an impression in the North of Sweden and with the summer window opening and Bodens BK sat top of the Swedish 2nd Division, Drogheda took an interest . After a successful week trial Bolger signed with the club and immediately became a fan favorite scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 win against local rivals Dundalk.
His stock continued to rise as he went on to play every game since arriving and also getting the game winning assist against Wexford to secure Drogheda’s first Cup Final in 11 years this Sunday.
This Sunday marks just 10 months since James Bolger arrived at PSC’s Colorado pro tryout with no professional experience. Less than a year later he is now playing on his second professional contract and will play at a packed 50,000 seater Aviva Stadium in the Irish Cup Final.
Fellow PSC success story Zishim Bawa is also on the books at Drogheda and made a fine start to life in Ireland before injury ended his season.
Both players got their chances in Europe by gambling on their ability and attending a PSC tryout. Each player was willing to sign in a lower tier in order to break into the professional game and have been rewarded with higher league contracts.
Sign up for a PSC tryout today and see where you could be playing in ten months time….
