Nineteen-year-old Chase Gozdieski took a major step in his soccer journey this week, making his professional debut for USL Championship side Colorado Switchbacks. The moment marks a steady and impressive rise through the ranks of three USL academies after placement via PSC’s pro tryouts.
Gozdieski’s professional breakthrough didn’t come overnight. He first came onto PSC’s radar in 2022 during their UK Residential Program, where he impressed against top-level English opposition — despite being only 15 at the time. Competing primarily against U23 squads, his maturity and talent shone through, earning him the attention of PSC’s network of professional clubs.
Over the next two years, Gozdieski signed three separate USL Academy contracts — with Central Valley Fuego, Orange County SC, and most recently, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC — all arranged by PSC. Each step provided him with elite-level training environments and a closer look at what it takes to become a pro.
“Chase was one of the standout players in England,” said PSC Residential Director Lee Holmes. “We saw his potential early, and it’s no surprise to see him taking the next step now.”
That next step arrived this week as Gozdieski made his first-team debut for the Colorado Switchbacks. Known for his composure on the ball and tactical intelligence, he slotted seamlessly into the professional setup — an environment he’s been steadily preparing for over the last 3 years.
“PSC continues to support me on my soccer journey,” Gozdieski shared. “From playing in England at 15 against U23s, to training with Hailstorm’s first team, every opportunity has been because of PSC.”
Chase’s debut not only highlights his individual growth but also validates PSC’s mission of guiding young American talent into the professional game. With hundreds of placements worldwide, PSC has become a proven launchpad for players ready to take the next step.
For Gozdieski, this is just the beginning — and for players looking to follow his path, PSC’s upcoming pro combines could be the start of their own pro journey.
